Russell Westbrook and his wife Nina are giving back

Russell Westbrook, NBA Houston Rocket's guard, and his wife have joined others to help make a difference in Los Angles during this COVID-19 pandemic. Westbrook and his wife joined the Mayor @EricGarcetti and The Angeleno Campaign to help provide direct financial assistance for families experiencing extreme financial hardship, many of whom are immigrants or independent workers who will not qualify for other benefits.

As of Wednesday afternoon, California had the third-most confirmed coronavirus cases of any U.S. state with 2,648, trailing only the nation’s current epicenter of New York (30,811) and neighboring New Jersey (3,675). Los Angeles is the largest city in California. According to The New York Times, data as of Wednesday showed 59,502 COVID-19 cases in the United States, including 804 deaths.

"Too many Angelenos need our help now more than ever. Visit mayorsfundla.org/Angeleno (link in bio) to help families experiencing extreme financial hardship during this pandemic. Many of those in need are immigrants or independent workers who are ineligible for other benefits. We’re all in this together. #nbatogether#actsofcaring #lalove." stated Westbrook on his Instagram
