June 5, 2020 (Houston, Texas)- One of the original members of the Screwed Up Click (SUC) Lil KeKe has teamed up with the people’s champ, Paul Wall, for collaboration project Slab Talk. The native Houstonians have collectively made an impact in the music industry through their unique sounds, chart-topping projects, and ability to show the world exactly how "trill" Texas is. Houston is known for candy paint, old school cars that are often referred to as slabs, chopped and screwed music, and a culture that is well-loved throughout the world. Lil KeKe and Paul Wall wanted to create a project that's fitting for slabs. The two have worked together on songs in the past but have always had a desire to do a full project. Late 2019, Lil KeKe and Paul Wall started working on this project. Slab Talk also features songs with Slim Thug and Big Pokey. "I'm a first-generation screw head and I've looked up to KeKe growing up. He has always been one of my favorite rappers, so to work with him on this project is honestly a dream-come-true,” says Paul Wall. Listeners can expect Slab Talk to bring the authentic Houston sound that's perfect for riding in your car. "Everybody has their own definition of what slab means, but this project is for the culture," says Lil KeKe. Recently, Paul Wall organized a Slab Ride for Justice in Houston for Ahmad Arbery. Lil KeKe is continuously pouring back into the community as well and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by President Obama in 2016.
